Answers:    unless you're new to T-Mobile, or you haven't upgraded your phone surrounded by at least 6 months, within is no cheapest way to catch a SidekickTM
The SidekickTM iD is the cheapest(no camera or music player though), and out of the new phones, the SidekickTM Slide is the cheapest. The entry is that if you want to surf the net and dispatch text/picture messages, you'll have to draw from a SidekickTM rate plan to go along next to the SidekickTM. It's totally worth it though!
