Answers:    I'm afraid the answer to your put somebody through the mill is no. The linux based OS from Motorola is heavily customized to respectively handset that it is put on so you wouldn't be capable of just pocket the image from one phone and put it into another.

I suppose it may be possible to run the source code, hack around for a while, write customer drivers for the hardware that the K1 has, and somehow obtain the Motorola flashing client to upload it into the phone, but the odds against doing that successfully are exceptionally high even for somebody who is a awfully skilled programmer to begin next to.

Realistically speaking there is no mode for you to place any operating system other than what Motorola have released for the K1. There are ways to customize that OS (custom sounds, features, images, themes), but to be exact beyond the scope of this answer.
