Is the BlackBerry Internet Service prerequisite?

The BIS is $25 for 4MB of data, while the regular (Rogers) internet plan for commonplace phones is $10 for 10MB. I don't really use my e-mail, just file messaging. Anyway, is the BIS necessary inorder to walk on the internet? Or is the normal background plan good plenty?

Thanks.

Answers:    The $10 data plan that you are referring to is for WAP devices individual (Wireless Access Protocol - cellphones only) and will not work for Blackberry devices. Rogers actually have two different sets of wireless data plans - one for data-compatible cellphones and one for Blackberry devices. Unfortunately the plans are not interchangeable so you do stipulation a Blackberry plan (such as the $25 plan you mentioned) in writ to access the browser function of your Blackberry.
