I just get this phone and I don't know everything about it, but I know you're supposed to know how to load music files onto it and listen to them through the walkman... which I can do and it works fine, but you're also supposed to be capable of set those full length song files as your ringtones and for some reason when I nouns them onto the phone and then I jump to my phone and try to select it as my ringtone it just say "Cannot use this file." There's no other explanations or anything it only says it cant use the directory and I don't understand why. It's surrounded by .mp3 format just resembling the other default ringtones that I CAN use, but they are so lame I involve something better! Has anyone else had this problem or know why I might be have it? Maybe it's because I don't have a memory card all the same? The phone holds like 10mb standard of "Phone Memory" and I can nouns like 2 or 3 songs onto it I freshly can't use them as my ringtones. Someone help because im going crazy beside the goofy default ringtones! Thanks
Answers: Your phone be locked by AT&T. They want you to buy their ringtones. You probably can't delete some of their ringtones or wallpaper either. They or Apple, did indistinguishable thing to IPhones. I have a w610 and currently have a w710 unlocked. I can choose anything ringtone I want, including MP3's. If you call AT&T and ***** / complain adequate they might send you the unlocking code.
I hold a 2Gb M2 chip on my w710 and it's awesome. I can listen to music all they long. They hold the longest lasting battery-operated than any other cell phone.
i dont think most phone's will allow you to do that unless the phone have some sort of ringtone cutter where you could chose what 20 second of the song you want to set as a ringtone. Would you want the ringtone to start from the first second of the song? Probably not.
Besides,. if phones had that point, then the cell phone companies wouldn't craft millions off selling ringtones.
I use a free ringtone site which let me create my own ringtones and you can even download ringtones that other's have created.
