Cell phone tap?

My question is whether my cell phone could be tap. I've done some research, and learned that it could be within the following manner (1) an against the law $100,000 piece of equipment for eavesdropping, or (2) if somebody copied my sim card. My concern is the latter. More specifically, does anyone know if it can be done within one hour's time, and if so, would they have have to have prior education of my phone/sim card to copy it?

Answers:    the $100,000 equipment is a myth. The radio channel is encrypted and no equipment contained by this price range can decrypt it. Only thoroughly powerful equipment available to government agencies can do it.

Copying a SIM card is not viable. The whole of GSM financial guarantee is centred around the inscrutability of a key call Ki which is stored in the SIM card. Even the phone can't read this knob. If this key be obtained you would not merely be able to decrypt the radio low, you would be able to pretend to be some other phone and use someone else's portrayal and get free call. This has never happen.
