Mark adjectives read on iPhone?

I have the iPhone. I set up the Gmail email service.
Once activate, the iPhone downloaded more than 500 messages and they are all tarnished as NEW!
Is there a path to "select all", mark as read, and/or delete adjectives of this?

the merely shortcut would be to forward some of your gmail to another account afterwards just read that one.
