Cell phone Help! (unlocking the phone)?
Thanks
Answers: take it to a t-mobile store, they will bring it back to the owner
and even if you be to unlock it they probably already canceled the service on it, and if they didnt and u use it that is stealing!
if your wanting to put your own sim card within it then thats different. lift it to a t-mobile store and see what they can do
but before you even deduce about using it try everything you can to return it to its rightful owner!
Is it asking for a pin number or a or puk number?
if a pin number simply translate the sim card.
if a puk number you need to reset the phone. consequently change the sim card you might want to save the phone but its illegal to use the current sim.
also you might want to check that its not reported as stolen, if it is and you use it even beside the new sim it will be blocked via the networks. or traced to you.
to some extent go to a service provider and ask them to check, if you still cant trace the owner later use it.
T-Mobile will not help you unlock a *found* phone, even if it be reported lost/stolen by the owner and the owner got themselves a replacement.
Sorry. They own a right to protect their customer's interests, not fulfill the needs of a blas¨¦ finder. Personally, I'd still be trying to get it put money on to the hands of the actual owner.
