Someone give me a used prepaid cell phone but I requirement to bring back a sim card to carry it up and running, don't I?

got a used cell phone on freecycle website, but very soon I need to receive it working. although I its' fully charged, it has no phone service currently. Can anyone inform me what I need to do to catch this phone working. Thanks

Answers:    Yes! You do need to draw from a SIM card from one of the mobile phone service provider of your choosing.
pop it open. if it have a SIM card (usually under the battery), afterwards you don't need a SIM card. That would probably tight that the antenna is a dud and isn't receiving a signal, or its a single company phone from a different band region (so if you live surrounded by the USA it'd be a phone from Mexico or Europe.)

or it may be some other problem I don't know about.
