Since I have given up hope on finding the pictures any where on earth on my laptop i want to at least save them on my ipod( like an expensive photo album). I would approaching to know from you out there how first to do this. Your answers are greatly appreciated.

Answers: You can't. I believe itunes will ask you before delete items on the ipod, but I'm not certain. You should know how to stop the sync when you plug it in however, and basically manually manage it from near on out.
You can also just sync music, and nil else, its not an 'all or nothing' option.
