Answers: no take it to the ipod store theyll fix it for free
Im so sorry, but I must enlighten you that your battery have died. Im really shocked that a first generation ipod have lasted you this long, but immediately the lithium battery have no life vanished in it.
There is no course of fixing the ipod you have, so your one and only option is to buy a different mp3 player. (Because, honestly, a new lithium mobile is worth more than the ipod at this point. lol)
There is a long process required in picking a investigational mp3 player that is right for you, but I am a huge admirer of Apple products and recently bought an ipod touch that I love, and if your ipod have served you well later you can find all the unusual ipods at apple.com.
Sorry I had to break it to you. But moral luck finding a new one if thats what you choose to do.
It's not worth sending within to fix. on apple support, they have a page, http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/earlie... that shows the symbols that may come up. At the bottom of the peak, find the symbol that comes up on your ipod and see what it is and how to fix it.
