I hold a memorex CDG karaoke system that starts to spin the cd, but consequently stops. What could be the problem?

When I lay it on its side it plays the cd, but when I turn it upright, it stops.


Answers:    it could be that the laser is not bolted down surrounded by the inside or something came loose contained by there? have it been dropped?
