I'm trying to play movies I downloaded via a torrent. Before I was one and only getting audio, no sound. I asked another grill on here and someone suggested a certain codec packet. I downloaded it and now some of the video work, but with others the video starts (with nouns and the first frame) but error C00D11B1 comes up and won't let me play it.

Do NOT download VLC. It's awful, and pretty crappy compared to WMP 11. WMP 11 does far more, and is much better.

most of the torrents i download, i use a program call VLC Media Player (free) It usually, if not other, can play almost any type of file. See if your movie (s) work near it.
