If you tried "shrinking" your current files you'd have to compress them some how. At that point they'd be within a different format and your mp3 player wouldn't recognize them as video files any longer.
The lone way that you could gain close to doing what you want is to re-encode your videos. It would work better if you used the orginal source wallet then one already coverted to play on your player. This wouldn't really be an prospect if you'd purchased the videos somewhere.
Either instrument you'd have to re-encode or covert your video again at a lower resolution or lower bit rate. That would obviously lower the part of the video playback. On a small screen you can procure away with the lower resolution though.
