ITunes won't detect my iPod nano...?

I plug my iPod nano into the computer, and it just doesn't detect it!

Well, on the iPod it say its charging, but there is no acknowledgement on the computer that the iPod is within.

ITunes doesn't show the picture of my iPod there, and the computer doesn't provide the "Safely Remove Hardware" route, which I guess means the computer won't detect the iPod.

Is in that any way to fix this problem in need taking it into the store?

Answers:    This is odd. It happen to my video iPod too sometimes. But I just unplug it and plug it vertebrae in and eventually it comes up. Sometimes it take a loooong time, though.
if i doesn't show it on my computer then here is no way but to give somebody a lift it to the store, the same happen to me and since I had the 1year warranty apple give i got a trial one without paying
