One of my iPod speakers work, how can i brand name the other one work?

My friend gave me her iPod and she thought that she have broken her right headphone. I bought a new double act of headphones but the right one still doesn't work. I figure the iPod is messing the headhnones up. The left one is fine but the right one doesn't work unless i put it surrounded by a certain position; does anyone know how to fix it?(It is a 2006 video)

Answers:    It could be the iPod's headphone jack. Check this by

(1) plug your headset into another source such as a disc player or sound system. Verify that you hear nouns in both channel.

(2) Place your iPod in a dock and verify that the iPod plays music from both speakers.

If (1) and (2) work, consequently the problem is your iPod phone jack. If
either steps (1) or (2) go amiss the problem is with the earphones or the iPod audio circuitry respectively.

Good luck.
You'll probably have to seize it fixed at a professional or get a tentative one.
