IPod, Zen or Zune?

Advantages and disadvantages.

Answers:    I suggest you get a Zune. I've be an iPod user for several years, and I've grown wary of the usual iPod problems, close to :

1. scratches and nick on the back
2. iTunes software really sucks on Windows, crashes a great deal, and updates too much for no reason.
3. Boring iPod menu where on earth you have to hold digging into it to find what you want
4. Scroll wheel is humane of annoying sometimes, if you accidentally slide your fingers too far.
5. Apple Tech support usually suggest you buy a new one in this day and age. etc.
6. iPods appear less durable than Zunes
7. iPods are also the most stolen items
8. iPods are too generic now, and every user's looks exactly alike.

That's just some of the problems.

I prefer Zunes over iPod because:

1. Better support - All Zune devices obtain the same update. Whether it be v1, or 2.0, they all go and get the same support. Apple doesn't afford the same update to adjectives their music players however.

2. Bigger screen - Compare the small squinty iPod blind to a large Zune eyeshade. Much better for videos.

3. durability - My Zune have lasted next to me since last December of 06'. Most iPod users by 2-3 every year.

4. scratch-less - I own never seen any significant scratch on my Zune. However, there are numerous on my iPods.

5. Better UI - where on earth as iPod's is rather stiff, Zune's hold a virtual 2D UI, that's rather striking. It's easy and quik to navigate on.

6. FM Radio - approaching local news? parley radio? concert ticket contests? new music? Zune have radio. iPod doesn't.

7. Personalize it - You can change the conditions image, bring back a case, or even do laser drawing with dapper background art at Zune Originals: https://zuneoriginals.net/

8. Subscription service "option" - If you're not a big disciple of buying music individually, then subscription is for you. For one flat monthly charge, you can have as much access as to any music you want on Zune Marketplace. It's close to "renting" music for a month. About $15. Or you could buy songs individually.

9. better integration with the Xbox 360 - the latest Zune update will promise better integration with the Xbox 360 than the iPod.

10. View within landscape mode - you can see video and pictures on landscape mode, so it's resembling a widescreen.

11. Better included headphones - where on earth the iPod's headphones hold horrible quality, the ones beside Zune aren't so bad. They even own a magnetic clip.

12. WiFi - you can share music, video, podcasts, and many things near it.

13. WiFi sync - you can sync to your computer without connecting it!

14. Same price as iPods - Same price as regular iPods of indistinguishable specs, but includes more bang for your buck.

15. Zune Social - share music beside your friends with your Zunes and online. Discover brand new music and share your music knowledge everywhere : http://social.zune.net/

16. Sync next to Windows Media Center - sync recorded TV shows onto your Zune device

17. Zune software is MUCH more simpler than iTunes - impart it a try for free to see : http://www.zune.net/en-US/products/zunes...

(retail cost)

Zune 4 : $150
Zune 8 : $200
Zune 30 : $199
Zune 80 : $249

Give Zune a look at : http://zune.net/

NOTE : Most iPod users have NEVER used a Zune, where on earth most Zune users have used an iPod. So these relations aren't too dependable on an opinion.
ipod (Apple)

Walkman (Sony)
Super nouns quality

4 issues (in order of importance) beside the zune that microsoft needs to address until that time I get a zune

1. Customer Service
-If you own a problem, unlike apple's no-question policy, microsoft wont send you a exotic zune

2. Software
-Kept crashing my computer, though I have the most modern zune updates and the best microsoft software

3. Battery Life
-Check out cnet.com article: http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9823477...

4. Screen resolution
-The Zune's 320x240 screen resolution is exactly impossible to tell apart as the iPod's 320x240. The iPod has much sophisticated pixel density at 163 pixels per inch. The end result: Zune's peak looks pixellated and iPod's screen looks sharp and crisp.
Here i find a article ,you can draw from enough information near about zune,zune2,and ipod, zen after read that , i give attention to you can make your own right judgment.

This is just gonna be your one stop NO-BIAS answer for everything zune. It's COMPLETELY ORIGINAL! I'll of late list the pros and cons versus the ipod. I enjoy owned a 2 zune 30's (hated them, returned both), a psp (stolen), ipod video 30 gb(exchanged when new ipods come out), ipod classic 80 gb(exchanged for ipod touch), and an ipod touch. I have used
a zune 80 and I am impressed!

PROS

1. Wireless sharing
-Not the most adjectives feature, but its cool to own in defence you know someone else with a zune. You can share music beside drm constraints (3 plays, unlimted days). However, there are no drm restrictions on sending pictures or podcasts. Videos cannot be sent right immediately through wi-fi

2. Wireless Sync
-As long as you have a home wireless lattice and keep the zune connected to a power supply, you can sync your music wirelessly. It's pretty slow, but its cool nonetheless

3.XBOX 360 integration
- The zune can integrate its music to the xbox 360

4. Movies through WMP
-As long as you enjoy windows medium player, you can sync recorded movies and tv shows onto the device

5. Podcasts
-Just as straightforward to load up on the zune as you could an ipod next to itunes. If you dont see a podacst, you can copy and paste the url

6. Premium earpiece
-Better headphones=better sound element. Beats crappy ipod headphones. Plus, since they are black and not approaching ipod's signature white earbuds, no one will know what mp3 you hold in your pocket

7. Accessories
-Admittedly, the ipod saturate virtualy 70 % of the market. Ipod frills is like a complete new merchandising empire. However, unlike other mp3 players (zen, iriver, sony, etc.) its SO uncomplicated to find accessories. As long as a store sell a zune, they WILL have frills!

8. Customizable Background
-Set a picture to the background of the menu. Cant do on ipod

9. Updates for every device
- The zune 4, 8, 30, and 80 draw from the same update. Apple requires you to buy an entirely unusual ipod before you can carry the new apple updates

10. Radio
-Not even included on the ipod. Plus, it shows the station, artist, and song currently playing

11. Screen
-3.2 within bigger than ipod's 2.5 in

12. Weight
- Zune 80 weigh 4.5 oz,less than an 4.9 oz Ipod Classic 80

13. Customizable Artwork
- You can catch the zune engraved with cool art for FREE if its bought from Microsoft directly, much cooler than the ipod's "parcels only" engraving

14. Tactile & Touch Control
-You hold a choice between using a touch pad or a regular scroll button found in the zune 30

15. Preloaded Content
-Music, Videos, Photos, and Podcasts ship next to the zune at no extra cost

16. Build Quality
-Glass screen and anadonized aluminum on the posterior. Wont have to bring back a case

17. Price
-Well...to speak about you the truth, it IS 99 cents more than an ipod. $249 ipod vs. $249.99 zune. But with adjectives those features, its a no-brainer!

18. Unlimited Music
-As long as you shell out $15 a month, you can load up as much music to the zune as you want. Of course, if you stop paying, ALL the music get erased

19. DRM-free marketplace songs
-When you buy DRM-free music from the online souk, your personal info isn't embedded approaching in iTunes plus songs

20. Theft
-The zune isn't as coveted as an ipod. Therefore, its much smaller quantity likely than an ipod to take stolen

CONS

1. Battery Life
-Microsft promised 30 hours audio only w/ wi-fi bad. Cnet.com published results that attained 22 hours, roughly half that of an ipod classic 80 gb

2. Got rid of the equalizer
-The zune 30 have a music equalizer and im pissed that microsoft got rid of it

3. Microsft (ms) points
-79 ms points=99 cents for a song. Thats confusing

4. Online store availability
-No movies or tv shows. Song inspection half that of itunes

5. Exclusive online store
- Can't use other music services close to napster, yahoo, rhapsody, etc. The thing that pisses me past its sell-by date is that these services are MICROSOFT BACKED!

6. Hard Drive
-Can't be used as an external hard-drive

7. No clock
-This is more important than you construe

8. No games
- This isn't really important, but the ipod have the upper hand on this one

9. Screen Resolution
- Its alike as the ipod's, but with the zune's bigger eyeshade, anything visual on the blind will look noticebaly "fuzzy"

10. Software Updates
- Microsft doesn't update their media player software as frequently as apple. So if something buggy go on, you may be in the poorly lit for months if it cannot be fixed

11. Cross- Platform Compatibility
- One of the reasons why the ipod is a seemingly invincible juggernaut is because it works beside BOTH mac and pc. If you enjoy a mac, you CANT use a zune

My Final thoughts...

As a former (and maybe future) zune owner, I KNOW what a zune. I'm NOT an apple or ms fanboy, freshly an honest consumer helping others. I think, if microsoft keep this up, the zune may overtake the ipod in the adjectives like it did next to the xbox and the playstation. One point to realize is
that most ppl hate the zune because they are apple customers for time, as the bought all of their music from the DRM-ridden iTunes
