Answers:    If, near a big if, you will only obtain the battery replaced or a spanking new 30GB iPod. Is that what you want ?
Also i guess the chances are terrifically high that apple will identify that you tamper with your iPod and next you don't have any warranty.
Sell the one you enjoy on ebay and buy a new one.
