What is the proper method to verbs an iPod?

I recently get an iPod, and now it's be a few days later and my iPod's freshly smudges galore! What is the proper way to verbs an iPod? If there isn't one using household products (i.e. rubbing alchohol, marine, etc.) what are some iPod cleaning kits you'd recommend? Thanks, your answers are other appreciated!

Any kind of electrical equipment is going to recommend keeping away from any alcohol cleaners. This is toxic to electrical elements. It will usually just be a weakly dampened cloth. I believe that your iPods owners manual might mention that.

The iPod uses a pretty ably protected plastic that manages to stay amazingly clean. I'm a printer and I'm competent to clean stale ink smudges off of my iPod, so I'm amazed how resourcefully it works. My old Shuffle users guide says to unplug the iPod and use a dampness, soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, or abrasives.
