How do you connect an iPod to a boombox or homre stereo/radio in need extra Apple/iPod gear?

I have a lead that is used to connect my speakers to my computer (bus). It's from Dell, it's green tipped on any side.

It looks vaguely approaching the one on the bottom that has a blue and green tip on any side.

I also have one that looks close to this:

(This one is a full cable, but the picture cuts it off.)

Is nearby any way I can use one of those cable to hook up my iPod to a home radio / stereo without buying extra Apple or iPod equipment?

I know it can be done, because some folks at my school hold done it before. I merely don't know where to plug contained by the cables.

Thanks!
