Answers: I suggest you get hold of a Zune. I've been an iPod user for several years, and I've grown guarded of the usual iPod problems, like :
1. scratch and nicks on the put money on
2. iTunes software really sucks on Windows, crashes a lot, and updates too much for no object.
3. Boring iPod menu where you enjoy to keep digging into it to find what you want
4. Scroll joystick is kind of annoying sometimes, if you accidentally slide your fingers too far.
5. Apple Tech support usually suggest you buy a exotic one these days. etc.
6. iPods appear smaller number durable than Zunes
7. iPods are also the most stolen items
8. iPods are too generic these days, and every user's looks exactly alike.
9. Apple's set to screw customers as well - 1-2 months after the release of the iPhone, they dropped a $100 bad the price, making loyal lovers angry.
10. No FM radio
11. No WiFi sharing or syncing
12. Less customization
That's just some of the problems.
I prefer Zunes over iPod because:
1. Better support - All Zune devices procure the same update. Whether it be v1, or 2.0, they all draw from the same support. Apple doesn't distribute the same update to adjectives their music players however.
2. Bigger screen - Compare the small squinty iPod eyeshade to a large Zune blind. Much better for videos.
3. durability - My Zune have lasted beside me since last December of 06'. Most iPod users by 2-3 every year.
4. scratch-less - I enjoy never seen any significant scratch on my Zune. However, there are numerous on my iPods.
5. Better UI - where on earth as iPod's is rather stiff, Zune's enjoy a virtual 2D UI, that's rather moody. It's easy and quik to navigate on.
6. FM Radio - close to local news? cooperate radio? concert ticket contests? new music? Zune have radio. iPod doesn't.
7. Personalize it - You can change the circumstance image, find a case, or even do laser drawing with spick and span background art at Zune Originals: https://zuneoriginals.net/
8. Subscription service "option" - If you're not a big lover of buying music individually, then subscription is for you. For one flat monthly levy, you can have as much access as to any music you want on Zune Marketplace. It's close to "renting" music for a month. About $15. Or you could buy songs individually.
9. better integration with the Xbox 360 - the topical Zune update will promise better integration with the Xbox 360 than the iPod.
10. View contained by landscape mode - you can see video and pictures on landscape mode, so it's approaching a widescreen.
11. Better included headphones - where on earth the iPod's headphones hold horrible quality, the ones near Zune aren't so bad. They even enjoy a magnetic clip.
12. WiFi - you can share music, video, podcasts, and many things near it.
13. WiFi sync - you can sync to your computer without connecting it!
14. Same price as iPods - Same price as regular iPods of like specs, but includes more bang for your buck.
15. Zune Social - share music near your friends with your Zunes and online. Discover untried music and share your music knowledge everywhere : http://social.zune.net/
16. Sync near Windows Media Center - sync recorded TV shows onto your Zune device
17. Zune software is MUCH more simpler than iTunes - afford it a try for free to see : http://www.zune.net/en-US/
(retail cost)
Zune 4 : $150
Zune 8 : $200
Zune 30 : $199
Zune 80 : $249
Give Zune a look at : http://zune.net/
NOTE : Most iPod users have NEVER used a Zune, where on earth most Zune users have used an iPod. So these culture aren't too dependable on an opinion.
Take your ipod support to the shop first and see if it cant be fixed, if it cant be fixed or will cost more than a zune get a zune.
