Is DJ'ing a dying art ?
I'm really interested in buying a set of two of Technics (DJ) Decks, plus the mixer and all the gear to mix LPs / Vinyl chronicles at home.
But my question is this ....
Is the art of DJ'ing a dying hobby / entertainment ?
Also, what gear do DJ's in clubs use very soon? CD mixers or computers?
For example I be in HMV and other music stores just now, and there be hardly any LP/Vinyl documents on sale! So it looks close to I'd be wasting serious money buying all the hardware, afterwards finding a serious lack of music on LP.
All feedback appreciated, and some points for the best answer!
Answers: I'm not sure nearly clubs, but DJ for parties and events are still surrounded by demand. We hire a DJ a few times a year for our party. They usually run about $400.00 for an event.
The DJ we use is a professional, he is within the union and pays a royalty for the music for respectively event he works. We sign a contract for each event.
His music is adjectives mp3 based and on his computer.
