My ipod have quit working.. it shows the menu eyeshade but i can't select anything..?

It hasn't been abused or anything.. I use it basically when I do house work and go walking.. It shows the menu eyeshade and the "select songs" option is highlighted but it won't do anything else.. IT WON'T EVEN TURN OFF..


Answers:    you have need of to reboot it. Consider it a small computer... there are instructions on the apple website. I conjecture you're supposed to hole the central button down at impossible to tell apart time as you hold down the 'menu' button. Hold them both until the screen go black. Then let progress and it should start up again, with the apple logo showing up after a few second.
Check if it is on hold?
