How can i erase the password of a iPod?

Ok, i this is the first time that i have used that Consumer Electronics passage of CEQnA.com.
I mainly suspend out in Computers and Internet, but my friend get an iPod from a guy at her school for $50.
and it have a password on it, now she have been going nuts becuz she can't go and get the password off and the kid she get it from does not know the password or the iPod's last owner.

I started thinking it may be stolen.
is nearby a way she attain the password off?

back her out here becuz i am asking for her.

Answers:    plug the ipod into the original computer ( i don't know how you are gonna find it) or try plugging it into yours. i adjectives else fails, any search for a password cracking program or spend your time trying to crack it. or you can sue the guy who sold it
try to connect the ipod on the computer using the UBS cord and it should reset.
