A few songs I want are not on iTunes....?
Answers: See if the artists themselves enjoy the songs online. You might have to try Windows Media Player, later switch the audio type so that iTunes will read it. I don't exactly know how it's done, but I know that it's possible.
If you can't find anything, you might have to suggest the song to iTunes. To do this, hunt for the song, and when no results come up, click the "suggest music" link. You will type surrounded by the artist/song, etc. and iTunes might get the music if nearby could be enough interest.
You could simply look for the CD or cassette on ebay. If it's a compact disc, you can import it right into iTunes. If it's a cassette or dictation, you will have to somehow verbs the songs to a CD.
