My two teens are asking for "ipods" for christmas. I went shopping yesterday, and wound up buying two Zunes, due to information from the salesperson that Ipods must dance thru Itunes, even to copy a song from your computer to the Ipod. He mentioned that Microsoft Zune can download songs from Limewire, rip songs right from your computer files. that it was smaller quantity complicated to use than the Ipod. I'm debating whether to exchange the Zunes for Ipods (same exact price). I'm new to the MP3 hobby. Which one do you think is better for a 15 year older? Also, I've heard that several computer viruses own been transferred thru LimeWire. I'm aware that it's a profile sharing program. Will my antivirus software protect my computer from virus associated with LimeWire downloads? Thanks for any counsel for this MP3 newbie.
Answers: I have a Zune 80gb, and I love it. (im 15 too.) I never really like Apple and their Ipods. I just dont. My friend get herIpod about 6 months ago, and it simply "froze to death" this past weekend.
As far as limewire go, that same friend started using limewire a couple of weeks ago. =\ i dont know if that has anything to do next to her Ipods death, or what. I would be cautious about that though. But limewire can work near itunes too. You just hold to fix the importing preferences.
ps: i would mind your Ps and Qs about limewire if i be you. I wouldnt want to be paying the $200 fine! As the article says, Limewire itself isn't unfair, but downloading music off their program IS. So it would be your responsibility if someone caught you downloading their music. Not Limewires.
Getting Zunes was the right choice.
