My iTunes won't stop syncing my iPod when I plug it within. Help?

This has be going on for quite a few months immediately, but I just immediately thought of asking here. What happens is, I plug within my 2nd Gen. iPod Nano to the computer, iTunes updates any song changes, but afterwards for some reason, iTunes simply won't stop syncing. I've left it for hours at a time but I come backbone and it still says "Syncing iPod. Do not disconnect". This is totally annoying, as now updating pictures on it doesn't even work.

Also, because of the never-ending-syncing, the singular way to disconnect my iPod in need iTunes yelling at me is to manually click "Eject iPod", and clicking yes on the error message that say "iTunes is syncing the iPod, are you sure you want to disconnect?", even though it's been syncing for bloody hours. I'm so annoyed next to it! ><

I'd appreciate help from anyone who's be in equal situation (if at all)! If not, any suggestions on what I should do?

NB: I have the most recent variation of iTunes, and use Windows XP.

Answers:    Hello there,

Dont verbs just reinstall or repair itunes.
ALSO look surrounded by the summary tab when u connect ur ipod & select manually manage music.

psyche this started happening when you installed the unmarked version of itunes?
Preferences--syncing--disable automatic syncing
