52x is the quickest read speed commercialy availible right immediately. The average you are going to find at CC, Best Buy what not is 48x. Thats another 600kbps give or run which isn't bad but isn't going to noticably alter the speed of ripping a whole cd.
There are other things to consider next just the read speed though. Your availible RAM is going to affect it as is your processor. If you are using an external drive the buffer between the external drive and the computer will slow things down. There may be simple upgrades you can do within those areas that would not only increase the speed you rip a cd at but other tasks as okay.
