Thermostat Questions. [Please Read!]?

Here's the deal. My Aunt basically rencently had a fresh thermostat put in. And ably the thing say that it's 66 degrees inside the house, and my Grandma set the thermostat at 72 degree, and still it hasn't came on. Any accepted wisdom on what I should do?
PLEASE HELP!


Answers:    Who put in the alien thermostat? The reason I ask is that the incorrect wires may enjoy been hooked up and the ignition signal is not mortal sent to the furnace. Many thermostats sold today are electronic modules which require batteries.

WHoever installed it should enjoy finalized the installation by turning it up and verifying that the furnace turned on, so plainly it was not a professional electrician. Which make me suspect the wiring.

Also, if you turned stale the furnace before installation, after you may need to re-ignite the pilot standard lamp in the furnace.
New Thermostasts hold 3 modes: off, cold, warmth.
Is it in grill mode?
Is the Furnace "on" ? (In some old models, the pilot requirements to be manually turnt on)
Is there power going to the Furnace?
