Why do I hear what sounds similar to morse code on my police scanner?

I know it's transmitted for a reason, I a moment ago don't know why.

Answers:    The call junk mail of the station and or the repeater are transmitted in international mores code to identify them. This can be done at the wrap up of a transmission or at a fixed time span, depending on the radio service.
We use two different types of radios at work.
When I use the 800Mhz radio to transmit ER reports, it is set up to technically "suspend up" when I click the transmitter a certain number of times. When I do this, I go and get the same sounds you're discussion about.
My profession doesn't include the radio maintenance, so I can't give an account you specifically what that is, but base on what I've just told you, probably you hear it at the end of respectively communication segment.
