The player can be set to output in 720p, 1080i, or 1080p. Even at 720p the picture will look great.
Technology other moves on, I am sure your next TV will be 1080p.
I enjoy 2 HD tv's and am waiting to get the HD player until the industry decide should it go blue gleam or HD DVD. Choice is yours.
