What is the difference between a Flux and a Solder?
Answers: Soldering is the process of bonding two metals together using another softer metal, called solder. Solder is more close to glue that holds two metals together. Of course it's not paste, it's a soft metal that easily melt when you put a hot solder iron on it. It is more like weld than gluing.
Solder is composes of soft metals such as Tin, Lead, and Silver. For electronics soldering, organize is no longer considered safe and mostly in a minute use Tin and Silver.
Flux, is a cleaner and anti-oxidant. It is used to clean the surface of metals contained by preparation for soldering.
Metals such as copper, often build up a coating of oxidation. Oxidation inhibits the faculty of solder to stick to the copper being fused near solder.
Flux is used to remove oxidation from the copper surface just prior to soldering.
Flux comes contained by paste form, or it is sometimes deep-seated inside the core of solder, in which luggage it is called "resin core solder". The flux is considered the resin surrounded by the core of the solder.
