Dvd/Hdd Recoder?
I am looking into buying a Dvd/Hdd Recorder-i've been looking on the lattice but the parts I really want to know about aren't explained properly.
Here is what I want-
250Gb Hard Drive
HDMI Connection
USB verbs from & to the Recorder including DivX
Digital tuner (Single or Dual)
Playback of all dvd types
Multi-region (if possible but not major priority)
I have looked at some models, such as Sony RDR-HXD970 but this will not play or store DivX from the Usb.
Also a few other models but their spec's dont state properly if you can in actual fact transfer recordings from the Recoders Hard Drive to the Usb mass storage & vice versa.
The best I could find be the Philips site which explains everything-I was going to stir with the Philips DvdR3590H model but unfortunatly it does not own a digital tuner??
Can anyone please fills contained by all these details for me & serve me find what I'm lookin for!
Much appreciated-THANKS!
Answers: Hi there.
Firstly, to enjoy a HDMI connection, you want it to be either a 'Blu-Ray player' or a 'HD-DVD' player. Remember in attendance are two types of players. Blu-ray is my recommendation, tons big companies are signing on exclusively with them. Also, are you sure you want a DVD recorder? The days of DVD record are dead, no-one used it. HDD is vital. Having a USB transfer is comparatively a rare piece, you'll struggle finding that. Most people I know filch the lids of the players and install a switch so they can connect it to the computer- sounds difficult! DivX is a compression, usually you purely get the video than use a converter on the computer to metamorphose it, the players don't (usually) do this. I assume you have a HD TV... you must remember that the HD output on the players can be upscaled and not the true resolution, and so the whole point of have a HD TV is lost. In reality, HD is improving over the next few years, and will also be like mad cheaper, so I'd give some time earlier buying it.
go for a vhs model
