Whats the difference between dvd and blu shaft of light?
Answers: very well dvd are the standard but a dvd player does not play a blu ray or hd dvd because they will become the investigational standard like vhs and dvd are in a minute. a blu ray disk is a completely different format than a dvd for the most measurable is the size differences a regular blu ray can consist of 25 or more gigabytes of notes vs. regular single layer dvd can solely hold 4.7 gigabytes so the players wont recognize them but i do believe blu stream players will include dvd funcionality.
No you can't play a Blu-Ray disc in a common DVD player; you have to enjoy a Blu-Ray player. Blu-Ray is in a giant definition format (1080p) which means it have an excellent picture if you have a 1080p compatible tv, but DVD is simply a standard video (480p). The reason that you can't use Blu-Ray discs within a DVD player is that Blu-Ray uses a blue laser to read and write the information on the disc while a DVD uses a red laser.
And just within case your wondering you can't use HD-DVDs surrounded by a DVD player either for alike reason you can't use Blu-Ray.
