I have a mp4 player that i get from ebay, and it is great, but i cant put video's in it. i figure that it was probably becaus the video i try to put in are not 240x320. at hand was a preview video and it looked great. can anyone tell me if i am doing the right entry, or lead me to a website that i can download a software from.

This have nothing to do next to codecs.
All you need to do is adjust your size of the video mate.
Go to this relationship below and download the software:-

You'll find the size resize option within the right panel of the software.
