Can I use a Lithium Ion AA battary contained by my remote control?

I want to by Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries for everything within my home. But, I am worried that the voltage is typically too high for plentifully of smaller items. I know they will work in a commonplace incandescent flash light, but if I pop a few into a solid state or a florescent wispy, would that be an issue? If so, can I use a “blank battery”? for instance: if my remote takes two 1.5v battery; If I use one Lithium Ion 3.6V with a “blank” within order to build contact with the other terminal, is that inside sufficient operation parameters of the device?

Answers:    It really depends on the device. For some devices this would be fine, for others it would not. I suggest you use the not rather as good NiMH battery. THey hold charge pretty well, and dont suffer the memory effect nearly as discouraging as NiCad.
