Energy Saving Electricals?

Confused..... I know there are animation saving oil lamp bulbs, but I have plentifully of low voltage flush ceiling lights, the type that run on individual transformers with 50 watt lamp in them. I presume that by varying these lamps to 35watt that will cut back their electricity consumption but are these classed as energy abiding? Also I 've seen a device that have 3 plug in unit into which you can plug 3 items that have standby lights on them and at hours of darkness will switch the standby off. This device is lb20, if I use it near my TV, NTL box & DVD how long will it take to break even as I really cant get hold of my head round how a TV for example can use almost alike amount of electricity when on standby as it does when its switched on

Answers:    The easy instrument is get a power strip or surge suppressor to plug them into and switch the suppressor it past its sell-by date when you want them off. The most reorganized lights are the fluorescent or the LED lights, but the LEDs are mucho expensive, the florescent use 14 watts and put out the same lumen's as a 60 watt incandescent. The TV uses power to allow the component to be on quickly, adjectives it isn't running is the screen,
Transformer driven lights are NOT drive savers. They are used for their bright clear hurricane lantern but they are just as modernized as an ordinary kerosene lamp.

How much you would save on the standby element depends on how efficient your devices are. I guess it would cart a few years to get rear the lb20 but you'd feel better human being kind to the environment.
You may not agree near this but I dont believe in vampire electronics.
