Answers:    7th paragraph of linked article below indicates that Phillips uses LG components.

But, next again LG gets it's LCD OEM parts from other manufacturer too....

What most people don't realize is that plentiful if not most products that we spot as "top name brands" purchase much of their modules from other manufacture.... some of which the vast majority of those never heard of. That's because OEM manufacturer don't sell to the public. They get rid of to other "re-branding" manufacturers who draw from the credit through their re-packaging, final assembly, and product marketing.

Take Vonage for example... they don't manufacturer anything... they a moment ago resell services for the most part.

Take Dell... they buy most adjectives components from other well specified manufacturers (and some not so in good health known) and re-package the parts into what we know as a Dell computer, or Dell printer, or Dell LCD Monitor, or....Dell TV....

Samsung is one of the few TV manufacturers that in truth make their own LCD panel, and of course flog it as OEM to other big names... such as Sony, Panasonic, and JVC.
