My jvc xv n410b dvd player will not play regular dvds. Can anyone push for why it just plays some dvds immediately?

It has worked fine for awhile immediately, then I started have trouble. I would have to restart the player to seize it to work. Then it stopped working entirely for most dvds. Ironically it will play the special features discs on dvd sets, but not the disc with the movie. It also plays some of my dvds that aren't from main lables, like my dvds of tube movies. Burned copies of my movies will play as well. But it seem a little crazy to generate copies of all my movies so I can keep watch on them, lol. If anyone can shed a little insubstantial on this problem, I would be most grateful.


Answers:    Often, special feature disks are DVD-R even though the fundamental disk is just DVD. It's so you can use them surrounded by your computer for interactive features.

The disks you make are DVD-R most plausible, and that's why they play.

Sounds like your section has quit processing DVD and one and only processes DVD-R

It's time to buy a new DVD player unless you compensated a lot for the JVC. I didn't hold time to check their web site to see it's utility. If it is a high-end unit, and JVC make some, it might be worth having it checked by a technician. Estimates are usually free, at lowest around here in SoCal.

If you do choose to replace it, consider spending the extra to gain Bluray capability. That's where on earth we're heading...
