What type of audio/ vedio format that works on DVD player?

I have vedios surrounded by .avi. To what type i have to exchange them so I can see them on a DVD palyer?

Answers:    If you're simply copying data files, whether .avi, .mpg, .mov, doesn`t matter what, they will not work in your DVD player.

Whatever software you're using to burn your DVD's SHOULD enjoy the capability of burning a Video DVD (as anti a Data DVD). When it does that, it will transcode your file into a series of .IFO and .VOB files that your DVD player can read. It's much more complex than simply converting one profile format to another.
