Do i own to buy a NEW sirius tuner? Or can I basically buy one rotten of ebay?

I have a pioneer deck, and I found the tuner I want for it. It's 99 bucks. But i found one really cheap on ebay, and I really want to get that one. I freshly don't know how it works though with esn numbers and adjectives. Soo, would I be alright with purely buying the one on ebay?

Answers:    with ebay you are risking that the model you buy does not work [therefore the vendor might not take it back] plus it probably does not own a warranty.

this is one of those things that is worth getting the bright product (from a reliable seller; aim Sirius or an authorized dealer)
With all satellite radios or tuner upon activation the esn number on the rear of the radio receiver or tuner will be registered. I would be hesistant to buy a used radio or tuner on ebay since the party who owns it must have already activate it before. For you to motivate that radio or tuner, the person who owns that radio or tuner must notify Sirius and describe them that they are releasing that esn number to another user.
