I just now purchased a packard bell f7300 next to a imprecise invertor or so I believed?

So I purchased a new invertor fitted it and adjectives was well brought-up for umm 30 secs so I ordered another invertor while waiting for this i check the voltage this is 19V the invertors max tolerance is 12V - The voltage appears to be this high because a surface mount resistor have blown and has literally come past its sell-by date the board. Now I can if very thorough use the 2 contacts on the board to bridge this again to complete circuit - However I need to drop the voltage by 7V what is the best opening to do this bearing contained by mind I am very really restricted room wise on the the board. It is the mud that has the break surrounded by the circuit not sure if that makes any diff anyone a DC flow? the input from the PSU is 19.0 v===6.32A MAX (120W MAX) any advice would be greatly appreciated.
