Has HD DVD turned the tide surrounded by the format period of war?
I infer Walmarts recent push of low cost HD DVD players is going to end this period of war. Best Buy, Circuit City and online retailers followed suit this past weekend. These things are finally starting to market out... now that they are lower than $200.
I have be holding back buying until this is over, and expected to be picking up blu-ray. For $169 this subsequent friday, I can pick up an HD-DVD player with 7 free DVDs (7x$20=140). I am really starting to consider picking one up.. format time of war or no format war.
Blu-ray have better capacity, but dimensions never seemed to hold spinal column DVD. How many DVDs hold a seperate DVD for content? It doesn't seem to hurt their sale
Answers: When I bought my ps3 ....I bought it for both gaming and the Blu-ray and DVD playing functionality. I also got it for free online play very soon that I have broadband. I am comparatively happy next to the HD video I get from blu-ray.
So for very soon I don't think here is much of a war going on....those who own PS3 will get blu-ray...those next to X-box 360 will get HD-DVD. They both set aside movies in their formats and nation will buy whichever is better suited to their needs/systems.
