Splicing wires together necessitate guick back network cable?

i spliced my surround sound cable because it wasnt long enough to fish rope it and they dont sell longer ones for jvc so i bought a gridiron cable because its the same 8 little wires.ive done this alot.when i get dont the sub didnt power on.when i switched it back to mundane it worked. heres my question.the sub line was aluminum and the exchange cards cable was copper. can those be twisted together and used?

Answers:    For low voltage applications approaching home theatre, you should enjoy no problem for about 10 years, and from the nouns of it, you probably will have redo this installation by then.

The two metals require a dielectric association if they are on a high voltage circuit, but a 12 VDC circuit resembling this, you'll be fine.
Twisting copper and aluminum wires will work for awhile. Using anti-oxide paste will gross them work longer. But it sounds like you mis-wired something. The net cable probably isn't wired the same as your surround chain. Network cables are paired for a while odd. Look at the connector awfully closely and make sure that your are getting wires from matching pin position connected between the network cable and the surround cable.
