HD DVD interrogate??/?

I just bought a trial HDMI DVD player and it's great, but I just bought an HD DVD of Troy and it will not play it. Do the HD DVD's want a special player other than a middle-of-the-road HDMI player like the Blu-Rays do? BTW I enjoy the correct HD cable etc.
Cheers!

Answers:    Yep a HD DVD recorder / player is what i am looking to buy
if you read some of the blurb on EBay what Sellers give contained by there information, next this will give you a better impression.
I want one without free picture digital programming.
Yes, you need an HD DVD player to play HD DVDs.

All three formats proposition HDMI connections on their players, DVD, Blu-ray, and HD DVD.
Sorry mate - you got conned by some clever marketing.

Your player will simply play DVDs, not HD-DVDs (or BluRay for that matter).

You need to jump out and spend a couple of hundred quid on a HD-DVD player.
Yes it wont work, unless you have a HD DVD. Don't buy one though because they are have a slow death.. Blu-ray is going to be the smash, so stick to Blu-ray players
