I have a quartz movement wall clock that my mother have owned forever. The face have arabic numerals & The only words are "Linden" above the center, and "Chime" below it. It looks similar to a Howard Miller Elliott wall clock. The clock works & will chime, but it's supposed to chime once on the partially hour - instead, it chimes for the hour. For instance - it will chime 7 times at 7:30, 8 times at 8:30, etc. rather than the one time it is supposed to. It's already ben to a jeweler, and he be incapable of fixing it. Is there an undemanding way to fix this? Failing that, how do I share who made the movement & where I can attain a new one?
Answers: Check the hand on the face. Normally they are purely a friction fit. Remove the hands and put them hindmost on for the correct hour when the clock chimes on the hour. This should fix the problem.
Normally, when setting a clock like this, never moves the hand backward. Advance the clock and permit the chimes complete their sequence at each point where on earth they chime before advance the time again. To set the clock back when daylight time ends, purely stop it for the hour instead of trying to advance the time 11 hours.
ADDED:
The site below have quartz chime movements but it says they donate the full westminster chime on at all quarter hours. It also endow with the hourly chime on the hour. Check it out and see if it's a help.
