Can I soundly use an electrical item bought within Germany contained by the UK?

I know I will need to modification the plug, but will it be safe to use within our sockets?

The EU has standardised on a domestic D supply of 230v 50Hz so there is no problem here.

You may either tuning the plug or buy a "reverse adaptor". These are becoming more available and only cost aout lb5 from masses of the bigger department stores and even some airports.

Note that a tv from France will not give you a nice colour picture within the UK.

For your info. When you buy domestic appliances in the EU look out for the CE speck on the back (or bottom).
