How do I gain my audio from my HDTV to my heir??

I am getting an HDTV and will be useing the HDMI port on my tv. I need to somehow carry the audio from the hdtv to my stereo...how?


Answers:    OK- you've told me that the receiver is a bit elder and that you're using component video cables. There are 5 wires. Blue, Green, Yellow, Red and White. The red and white are audio and the other three are video. Unless you want to use your addressee to switch between a DVD player, DVR, etc., you probably don't need to run the video through it at all- it sounds similar to you're using an HDMI cable between a cable box and the TV. That's fine. Now find a red and white pair of jacks on the TV that are labeled 'audio out' and hook them to 'audio in' on your heir and, there you run! Let me know if I still haven't answered the ?.
