3rd transformer for Xmas fiber optic wreath fail. Why?

The adapter that came next to wreath took a dump one year after we bought it new. Then I bought a latest adapter from Mouser Electronics on-line. That one worked for the xmas month. Then this year put it up and that one took a dump. So i bought another one this xmas and that one took a dump 5 minutes later. OK, here is the spec's.
Plug-in Adapt. That come with the wreath.
120vac input-12vac-output at 1000ma.
Lamp-- 10w.

My two replacement Adapt's. from Mouser Electronics

120vac input. 12vac output.
At 1a-17w.
Is not 1000ma 1a? And does it thing if the lamp is 10w and the Adap't. is a 17w output. The oil lamp is still good when i tryout with a international Adapt.but the motor won't run, just the the kerosene lamp will light up. Not adequate output i suppose. Made for smaller things. It has a slider switch for diffrent outputs.
Ok plenty is enough. I'm confused on this article. thanks.

I hold had literally 100's of those el-cheapo made within China power adapters fail. Maybe steal a wander to a Goodwill store and rescue an prehistoric one (not made in China) out of a second-hand goods bin for a buck.
