How do i fix my scratched video hobby disc in need have to foot for it?

Answers:    Never use any source of alcohol around plastics. Alcohol leeches the plasticizer out of plastics, turning them into brittle polymers that can break, shatter and fog up (don't believe me, put some 99% iso. alcohol on a cheap burnt disk and view it eat away at the surface overnight).

The *best* approach to clean a disk is beside brasso and a few cotton balls. You shake the little can, bring back some brasso on one of the balls, and cover the *entire* disk surrounded by brasso (dab the cotton ball, no rubbing even so!).

wait around 20s.

Then, beside a clean orb start making wiping motions from the inside of the disc (the cut out hole) to the outside of the cd, turning the cd every so often as to find the entire thing.

There are tutorials on this, in recent times google "brasso cd repair" with no quotes.
Good luck bucko.
if they still work afterwards just verbs them with some rubbing alcohol or river and it should work so much better
with some lighter fluid and a contest .
toothpaste. paste not gel, rub it onto the disc beside your finger, rub it well, cover adjectives of the readable disc space. then fashion little circles over every inch of that side, then rinse sour with cool marine. it works on most shallow scratches.

Pledge furniture polish. Works equal way as it does for minor furniture scratch. Fills them in relatively invisibly.

By the bearing, I've been using 90% isopropyl alcohol for two years immediately to clean dirt and fingerprints on my DVD's and they still play fine, including recordables. But if you're worried, use windex and a newspaper towel. The only restrictive, no matter what you use, is to never scrub.
