No audio next to unsullied Toshiba SD 5000 DVD player?

Hi. Have surround sound system next to CD/big screen/2 receivers for zone 1 & zone & digital cable box hooked up to system. Had previous DVD working but purchased a investigational DVD and now using same cable cords etc. get hold of video fine but no audio. Currently using VIDEO OUT jack on DVD and ANALOG AUDIO OUT L/R in white/red cable with DVD. Please help out! Thanks!

Answers:    Connect the player directly to the TV, do you get audio?
If yes, Then you haven't configured your surround system correctly. If no, formulate sure you selected the proper input on your TV.

By the road, since you have surround , use the digital audio output from your DVD player to draw from all 5.1 audio channel.
I would return it if you have the exact same cable. Must be a bad element. Return it for the same point if you want. I would return it and buy an HD-DVD player they make your DVD's look better and the prices on the movies have gone down to the same as DVD and within is a night and afternoon difference. I would liken it to the difference in VHS and DVD.
